Frequently Asked Questions

Where do you meet?

We meet at Arvada Covenant Church, 5555 Ward Road, Arvada, CO, for twelve weeks each semester.

What day and time to you meet?

We start our day at 9:00am on Friday, break for lunch from 11:40 to noon, and end the day at 1:00pm.

What are your semester dates?

Our fall semester usually starts the last Friday of August and ends the Friday before Thanksgiving.

Our spring semester starts mid-January and ends mid-April

Do you do fundraisers?

We participate in Boxtops for Education, Longmont Dairy lids, Smile.amazon.com and the  King Soopers loyalty card program as ongoing fundriasers to help keep our fees low.

What are the fees?

All fees are per semester:

$25 per student, NON REFUNDABLE, due upon acceptance

$25 insurance fee, per family

$125 per student tuition fee

How do I register?

Fill out the Family Registration Form from the link on the home page and sign up to attend an open house (held in the spring semester).

How do you determine which class my child will be in?

We sort our classes by birthday not grade.  We split the elementary into 6 different groups....(approx.) 5-7 yrs. boy and girl classes, 8 -9 yrs. boy and girl classes, and 10-11 yrs. boy and girl classes. This varies depending on ages and how we can fit them all in. Our elementary classes are a maximum of 21 students.

The Jr. High (approx.) 12-14 yrs. girl and boy classes and Sr. high (approx.) 15-18 yrs. girl and boy classes.

Do you require volunteer hours?

We are a program that relies on parent volunteers.  That being said, we understand that everyone has seasons of life in which serving outside of their current commitments is not possible.  Volunteering to help in some way is not a condition of participation in the program.  There are also ways you can volunteer without having to commit to being at the program every Friday.  Those opportunities include administrative work, marketing, prepping class supplies, writing grants, scheduling fieldtrips, and special projects

If you can commit to helping every week there are many ways to contribute. There are a myriad  different areas you can fit into, and everyone has a gift!! The HSE community needs you!
